The Mermaid - Atlantice
This beauty was a year in the works. Now she's ready for some warm sunshine. Just out of the water, a soothing ocean breeze shapes her hair and fins. She has come from another world into ours.
The sculpture is made of a fairly new material called Forton. This is a polymerized gypsum. It's light and very tough. I layer the inside of the piece with fiberglass cloth for added strength. I also use life-like silicone eyes to add to her intriguing look. At this point the piece is ready to be put outdoors. But wait! The fun has just begun. There is color to be added!
After the body is cast and smoothed, I get to have the fun of bringing her to life with custom paints. I work with a wonderful graphic artist who has been painting for as long as I've been sculpting(20+yrs.). We use incredible auto paints to give it a beautiful luster over transitional colors with a subtle sparkle. When the sunlight hits the tail, watch out. Your mouth will drop. We have a beautiful satin flesh tone for the body.
Some of your options include choosing your favorite eye color, hair color, and tail colors.
The base can be made into a fountain. Imagine water slipping over the rock ledges. A custom base can be created. For an existing pond setting, a footing can be placed in the ground or under the water level that will hold her nicely.
If the mermaid is going to be placed outside, the base can be weighted or a nice pre-cast cement (looks like sandstone) slab can be made to attach to the bottom of the rock.
The piece weighs a bit over 100 lbs. On the base as shown the piece is 5'10" tall. The tail is 3'7" wide. And she is 4'8" from front to back.
It will be shipped in two pieces. The figure will be seperate from the stone base. The two fit right together.
She will be hand delivered if at all possible. This makes everything easy for you. Plus, I love to see the beautiful places you have to display her.
The price as shown is $14,000. (half down and half upon delivery) Your satisfaction is guaranteed.
Financing options are certainly possible.
Delivery is priced as necessary. Dinner would be fun too!
